At VITAL AWARENESS we want you to think long and hard about the chicken and eggs that you eat and how the birds that produced them were raised. Most likely they were intensively raised under factory farm conditions. Within factory farming there are two breeds of birds, 'layers', those that provide the eggs, and 'broilers', those that provide the meat.

It doesn't have to be this way, there IS an alternative. There is a small number of farmers who are producing slow growing breeds of poultry that are raised outdoors on pasture. Birds raised outdoors are healthier, happier and if you are a foodie, tastier.
|
Birds raised outdoors are able to engage in their natural behaviors of scratching and foraging for bugs and insets, dust bathing, nest building and being generally inquisitive and gregarious...in other words just being chickens!
